WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR EXACTLY?
ANY photo or video, in ANY photographic medium, created by ANYONE, as long as it is shot in East Vancouver. Your submissions should answer the question: WHAT IS EAST VAN TO YOU? For more detailed submission guidelines look HERE
DO YOUHAVE TO BE FROM EAST VAN TO SUBMIT PHOTOS OR VIDEO?
No.
WHY DO I HAVE TO SIGN AN ARTIST RELEASES IF MY IMAGE/VIDEO IS SELECTED?
The artist release is meant to protect you as an artist as much as it is there to protect the project. In signing the release you are certifying that the photo/video is your property and will remain that way. In turn, it gives THIS IS EAST VAN the permission to use the image in anything TIEV related, but nothing else.
DOES THE IMAGE/VIDEO I SUBMIT HAVE TO BE CREATED BY ME?
Yes. Photos must be taken by the person submitting them, and video submissions must be submitted by either the director or producer of the film.
CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN 5 IMAGES?
No. If you submit more than 5 images we will eliminate your submission and ask you to submit again, including only 5 images.
WILL I BE PAID IF MY IMAGES ARE SLECTED?
No. If we could we would, promise. THIS IS EAST VAN is a community art project made possible by a few people volunteering a lot of their time. If selected we can promise you that your work will be exposed to the world in yet another way and that you will be representing your community along with other like minded, creative individuals. As a community art project, our goal at this time is not monetary gain, rather to celebrate all sides of East Van seen through the eyes of it’s people.
WHEN DO SUBMISSIONS CLOSE AND WHEN ARE ARTISTS ANNOUNCED?
The photo submission deadline is September 15 and the video submission dealine is November 15. Other important dates are listed above.
